Dragonflies.

We have internet that is appearing to be working with some speed and consistency.  So I'm going to try to start blogging again consistently.  I have so many stories - and even more pictures to share.

Yesterday, I went to the Silver Chord Cascade overlook and just sat for about an hour by myself in the woods.  It was incredibly peaceful.  On my way back, I ran into these giant orange dragonflies that were bathing in the sunlight.  They are about the size of my hand and had gold flecks glittering on orange wings.  Amazing!

I had just figured out how to take decent close up shots - and it couldn't have happened at a more opportune time.  When I was taking the photos, my heart was racing and I was holding my breath.  After I walked away, I was so gitty with excitement over the thrill of getting these shots.  I loved every second of it.

I have to get ready for work - but I just wanted to say that I'm back!  I'll post something more substantial in the next day or two!
